Abstract:
In this paper, we show how recurrent features in the Emergent Communication (EC) literature can be used to characterize a subset of human communication ability.We aim to bring emergent communication researchers closer together, by demonstrating how diverse approaches can be considered subsets of the same problem, and emphasizing the importance of include human language evolution literature in this field.
